Harbor House is seeking a qualified individual to provide crisis counseling, case management, advocacy support, risk assessment, safety planning, and follow up services to survivors of domestic violence who do not reside in the emergency shelter. Works with other community service providers to establish a referral base for clients to access needed services.


Education and Training: Minimum of an undergraduate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field is required. Professional experience may be substituted for formal education at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.


Other Job Requirements: The ability to read, write and speak fluently in both English and Creole is preferred. This position requires knowledge of case management skills, the ability to provide effective and immediate crisis intervention for clients and to facilitate support groups. Additionally, applicants must possess knowledge of Haitian Community Resources as well as a knowledge and understanding of the Haitian/Creole culture. Basic to intermediate computer skills and a clean driving record required. Must attend a 3-day training in order to become CORE certified prior to working with survivors. 

Experience: A minimum of one year of case management experience preferably in a domestic violence program.
